It's that time of year again for the We Love Colors Halloween Costume Contest!

This time, friends have the option of competing in one or two ways…by photo and/or video submission!

Each photo and/or video submitted must follow the guidelines below to be entered into the contest:

1. Costumes must include We Love Colors products


2. Photos/Videos must be submitted as a jpeg file or as a 2 minute or less video clip in file formats .mpg, .wmv, .avi or .mov via email, click here.


3. Winners will be judged on creativity of costume


4. Contestants may participate in both the photo and video contest


5. No Nudity, Vulgarity or any Offensive submissions will be accepted!

Please include the name of your costume and the We Love Colors products used in your photo or video. Also, if there is anything in particular that inspired you we'd love to hear it!

By submitting to this contest, you agree to the Terms of Use of We Love Colors as listed on our website (www.welovecolors.com/Info/terms.aspx); see section titled "Submissions". Your submission shall be and will remain exclusive property of We Love Colors, Inc.

This Halloween I was the Bee Girl featured in Blind Melon's video for "No Rain." When I was little my parents always said I reminded them of her because I always marched to the beat of my own drummer.
This could have been a very difficult costume, because plus sized yellow leotards are not easy to come by. HOWEVER, thanks to We Love Colors, my costume was done with perfect accuracy weeks before Halloween. I used your yellow leotard and black tights, made my own tutu, and attached some black sequined ribbon to the front of the leotard. The result: First Prize in the costume competition at our annual Halloween Party.

Matilda is dressed as the superhero Firestar. We searched for the
right color leotard and tights everywhere, but were lucky to find
welovecolors.com. No one else seems to have the variety of colors.
We used the Long Sleeve Scoop Neck Leotard and matching tights. The
rest of the costume was made from felt and foam from the craft
store, with a little velcro and hot glue to get it all together.

A friend and I went to the Texas Renaissance Festival as dark faeries, the weekend of Halloween. I visited We Love Colors with only a color in mind, and I was able to design an entire costume around it, right down to the wig and makeup. I was looking for the most unique opaque tights available, and I found them here! In fact, they are so durable, I was able to pin a small plush "plague rat" to my leg (after this picture was taken) and there was no damage to the tights. I chose to wear shorts under my skirt, but the tights are opaque enough that I probably didn't need to. Had I seen your Black Striped Arm Warmers at the time, I would have bought those too!
The wings don't show as well as I'd like, but there are four panels, completely hand-made, and the black tulle actually has fabulous little skulls all over it. The silver detail on the skirt was hand-sewn. The details that are harder to see in this image are the incredibly life-like latex faerie ears I found at Dragon*Con and a pair of silver sequined ballet flats.
Had I realized then that We Love Colors had an address to send photos, we would have taken a better one! I (and anyone I can recommend you to) will certainly return to We Love Colors for all our future hosiery needs! Thank You!

"Solid Color Thigh Highs" in Medium Blue and unpicked the sewing on the toes so
I could wear them on my arms.
I was so excited to make this costume this
year! About a month before halloween I started looking for blue tights in every
store and mall that would work to make me look like I had blue skin, because I
knew if I couldn't get those, the rest of the smurfette costume wasn't worth
making. I was going to give up on my search, but decided to look on the internet
for colored tights. I was led immediately to your website and found the perfect
"Medium Blue" tights that were the color I wanted!!! I was super excited! I also
realized I could order your thigh high tights and unsew most of the toe part,
just leaving one part in tact to be inbetween my fingers and thumbs. It worked
like a charm and saved me a from having to use messy face paint all down my
arms! I sewed the dress and smurf hat myself after I received the tights and
ended up with this amazing smurfette costume! I've NEVER gotten so much
attention from a costume as I did this year, even winning a costume contest with
it--hands down! It's definitely a crowd pleaser! Thanks for making it
possible...because a smurf costume just doesn't work without blue legs and arms!

Attached is a picture of myself dressed as a contemporary “Mother Earth” en
route to a Birthday/Halloween Party. The invitation requested creative, self
expressive costumes.
Your splash color # 7214 was my inspiration for Mother
Earth, as the colors reminded me of a distant satellite view of earth….. I am
sporting splash color (#7214) leotard and footless tights, and carried around
the “Infant Earth” in the basket, which was a hand painted glass globe (garden
mag.). Hidden under the globe was a flashing multicolor strobe light which made
the globe come to life! I topped it off with a green and blue toile cape, and a
blue sarong…… A little funky, a little sexy; thanks to We Love Colors, the
costume was a hit!

the obscure character "duffman" from the simpsons cartoon series. I included a

Being this costume is based on a superhero that is a spokesmen for a

them are so young they didn’t even know what a hippie was! *laughing* I was
inspired to be a hippie for Halloween, as I hang a brass sign with the cursive
lettering: “peace”, from the inside ceiling of the bus where all the students
see it when boarding, and exiting, every day. It is a bit of a talisman, and
always gets some interested inquiries each September from those wanting to know its significance. I tell them, “Peace is a global wish, and this bus is no
exception. I want peace here, too.”

Hello! Thanks for this opportunity!
I participated in my first couples costume this year with my boyfriend Will, who was the inspiration, by name, height and hair type, for our costume combination of Willy Wonka and an Oompa Loompa. We were shooting for the Gene Wilder version of both costumes. Its a bummer that the photo doesn't show my green hair style but I included a second picture if you think that one might be better.
As you can probably see I am sporting the vertical striped brown/white thigh high stockings. And interestingly enough, pretty much all of the clothing items that he and I wore were obtained from ebay!

I made a Corpse Bride costume this year for Halloween. I purchased a pair of
kid's microfiber footless tights in Aqua size 6-8. I didn't want to have to
paint my arms blue and your tights gave me the idea to cut them in half and sew
them into the armhole openings in my tea dyed dress which worked out
fantastically and kept my arms warm while I sat out on the porch handing out
candy to all the trick-or-treaters. I tea dyed a pair of white kids gloves to
